“Simon are you sure?” Gwen asked as they herded the kids into his golf cart.

“I’m positive. We are literally across the street. If they need anything one of us will just walk them over.”

“I just feel bad. That’s a lot of estrogen you’re bringing back with you.”

“It’s fine,” he laughed. “Plus, it’ll be awhile before the cousins will all be together again so it’s fine. It’s good. We’ll see you in the morning.”

As Gwen hugged her brother goodbye, Ruby walked up to Tara, putting her hand on her arm, and pulling her aside.

“Look Tara, I’m sorry about what we talked about earlier. I had no idea.”

“It’s okay Ruby. No one did.”

“No, it’s not okay. I didn’t know. You could have talked to me.”

“I didn’t tell anyone. Not for a long time. I mean Ellen knew, but that was it. But I’m fine. I’m good now. It just needed to be said.”

“You really are a beautiful soul,” she uttered as she kissed her cousin’s cheek and hugged her tightly.

“Harper cousins? Am I dropping you off?”

“Just Ruby. I’m going to stay back and help Gwen clean up.”

“Okay, come by in the morning. I’m making breakfast! All aboard the Patterson Express!”

“Choo-choo,” the girls squealed as the golf cart disappeared down the driveway.

Gwen picked up the last glass off the kitchen table and stacked it on top of the plates she had gathered and carried them to the sink. Feeling a little intoxicated she decided that loading the dishwasher would be too much of an effort right now and the task could wait until morning.

TJ, also feeling a little tipsy herself, wandered aimlessly around the living room looking for anything left behind by the dinner guests but soon found herself distracted by the music coming out of the speaker on the far side of the room.

“I thought you were helping me?” Gwen asked as she poked her head into the living room with a smile on her face as she watched as TJ danced in circles, swaying her hips, and holding her drink in the air as “Pump Up the Jam” began booming through the living room of the beach house.

“I am!” she shouted. “I’m on a break. You should join me…” she half screamed as she opened her eyes and looked straight at Gwen as she moved her arms up and down in a “raise the roof” type dance move to the music.

“Raising the roof? Really?” Gwen questioned as she put her drink down on the kitchen island and walked into the room.

“Well what if I see your raise the roof... and raise you a snake?” the blonde asked as she shimmied her neck and shoulders side to side as she walked over to TJ causing her to double over in laughter.

“Oh yeah? Well how about A Dip?”

“Why would you pick that one?” Gwen screamed in laughter. “I was a dance instructor for years and I can tell you that NO ONE knows how to do that one!”

Her hands found TJ’s shoulders as she leaned into her and they continued to laugh until they could no longer breathe.
